Configuring the Collector Server Settings

A Server represents a machine that will receive collected data. This must be a machine that is running Reveille.

Collector server settings are defined on Server tab located on the Server - <Server Name> dialog box:

  • Name. A unique name used to identify the server.
  • Server is local machine. Determines if the server is the current machine, or a remote machine. If this check box is cleared, the server is a remote machine, and additional options appear on the dialog box.
  • Data Sources are locally defined. (Remote server only) Determines if data source definitions are defined on the local machine, or are pushed from the server to the Collector through web services.
  • Encrypt data. (Remote server only) Determines if collected data is encrypted during the transfer to the Reveille server through web services. Disabling encryption improves performance for large amounts of data. The data is automatically compressed during normal transfer.
  • Send debug logs to server. (Remote server only) Sends the debug logs to the Reveille Server if the server is not the local machine.
  • Disable all Data Sources for this server. Disables all the data sources for this server.
